What to Expect from Treatment

When you first come in, an assessment will be performed to allow me to better understand how your body has compensated over a short period or years of poor conditioning. This is to avoid working on the wrong area. Working on an area that is trying to support you. That is your last resort of stability.

I see it like a tug-o-war match being constantly played.

Finding the source of your pain

Some tissue that has been through trauma may need time to release and undergo adaptation. The brain also needs time to realize its previous compensation was only to create ‘safety’ so you can go about your day without tremendous pain. It needs to learn new patterning. So within the treatment, I will help you understand what was happening to cause the pain, why your body was compensating and what can you do to maintain good alignment without pain.

The body should be encouraged with constant repatterning (called neuroplasticity) because we can we fall into the same habits that have cascading effects that turn into bad habits. We don’t feel this change, but it happens gradually. We must re-educate our mindset by changing the things we do on a regular daily basis or else we fall into the same damaging habit.

When you as a client understand why your pain is happening, not only do you have a better understanding of your patterning and body, but your pain will lessen. Your brain is searching for answers but all it knows is to send pain signals whenever it doesn’t feel safe or aligned.
