Physical Pain

Can be a result of poor alignment, inflammation, mental and physical trauma (surgery), direct injury (falls), or just not doing anything at all for long periods of time and being lazy as it is…resorting to gradual onsets of discomfort leading to pain.

Scars

Can have sistering effects to injury even though the scar can be recent or 20 years ago. The body considers any interruption/damage to the skin and layers of fascia a threat, in which its own (protective mode and) compensation is to adapt not allowing too much change to the body providing discomfort.

Lymphatics & Inflammation

When the body is alerted of a threat to its system, its protective mechanism kicks in to “clean up” and heighten receptors so other injuries cannot occur. First line of defense. As a result of this change, your lymphatic system starts to get rid of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials with white blood cells. Restriction of this results in lasting discomfort in tissue and restricted range of motion.

The body has its own recovery time, and it is individual to the person depending on nutrition, health, and rehabilitation. Specific and focused exercise with body/brain-stimulating activities while inactive is essential for the body to still recognize nerve innervation and muscle involvement.

The ability to sustain good health is due to a combination of being in good mental and physical shape. Getting proper sleep allows the brain to rinse itself from toxins and congestion creating overall suitable circulation to the body. The body’s capability of achievement is relative to how it’s challenged externally and internally on a daily basis.

Sleep is crucial to our lives. We need more of it when we’re younger and it although we also need it when we’re older, we can tolerate less and less of it. But to what cost? Without proper sleep our body doesn’t circulate lymphatically, our cardiovascular is negatively impacted and our fascia can undergo more restriction than normal. The more movement we create in our joints and tissue, the more relief can exist throughout our body.

Posture

Like a brick archway, it holds itself together with concrete but if it was not held together with concrete, it would still hold because they are stacked appropriately well. Our joints are stacked in a way where they communicate the same way but in movement. Once we adopt bad habits, it now takes toll on these stacked joints which affect muscles, ligaments and fascia creating a push and pull of tension to hold structure. It turns into a bad tug of war game your body is always trying to win until its dealt with.

Headaches & Migraines

Headaches & migraines can be one in the same for some and completely different for others. When the body has unknown reactions and drastic changes occur, the body has restrictions and can create increased sensitivity to things – impairing vision, hearing, quick movements and activity. The cause is unknown but still can be addressed through the head, neck, stomach and eyes.

What to Expect from Treatment?

When you first come in, an assessment will be performed to allow me to better understand how your body has compensated over a short period or years of poor conditioning. This is to avoid working on the wrong area. Working on an area that is trying to support you. That is your last resort of stability.
